Fixing a Disappointing Room Makeover
Most weak results come from the photo rather than the prompt. Before changing anything else, retake the image in daylight, stand in a corner so two walls and the floor are visible, and hold the phone level.
- The result changed my room too much.Add preservation language to the prompt: “keep the window position, door and cabinet layout”. The AI reinterprets the whole image, so naming what should stay makes a real difference.
- The style is not what I expected.Style names are broad. Add two or three materials and colours — “pale oak, oat linen, warm brass” — instead of relying on the style word alone.
- The room looks dark. Underexposed photos produce underwhelming makeovers. Shoot in the morning with the curtains open and the ceiling light off.
- Furniture looks the wrong size. Furniture scale in a generated concept is approximate. Measure your room before buying anything based on a render.
- Clutter survived the makeover. Clear worktops and floors before photographing — the AI treats what is there as part of the room.
Room Photo Upload Problems
- Use a standard JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP image. Screenshots with status bars or interface overlays can confuse the room analysis.
- Crop away black bars and borders so the frame contains only the room.
- Very large images may need to be resized. A photo straight from a phone camera is normally fine.
- Check that DecorAI has photo library permission in your device settings if the picker will not open.
- On a slow connection, upload over Wi-Fi — a stalled upload usually looks like a frozen screen.
Account and Sign-In Help
Your saved room transformations are tied to your account, so signing in with the same method on each device keeps everything together. If a makeover is missing, confirm you are signed in with the same account you used originally rather than a different sign-in provider.
Subscriptions, Billing and Free Access
Free access, trial availability, generation limits and premium features vary by platform and current offer. The App Store, Google Play and Web App listings always show what applies right now.
- iPhone and iPad: manage or cancel under Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Android:manage or cancel in Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions.
- Refunds: handled by Apple or Google under the policy of the store where you purchased.
- Restoring a purchase: use the restore option in the app while signed into the same store account.
What DecorAI Cannot Do
DecorAI helps users create AI-generated room makeover ideas and visual room-design concepts. Results should be used as inspiration and early-stage planning support. For structural renovation, exact measurements, technical drawings, electrical work, plumbing, permits, construction, or complex interior projects, users should consult qualified professionals.
